There is an increasing request for metallurgic quality in die cast pieces and greater production calls for the construction of multiple cavity moulds. This makes it difficult to optimise a pouring spout which can ensure balance at the filling stage for all pieces. Virtual simulation means possible problems can be identified in advance and required solutions can be found before mechanical work on the mould begins. Important information can be gathered from the simulation such as temperature, speed and pressure both during the filling and solidification stages.
